Reduce the cutting speed.
Check the blade depth – as a rule of thumb it should be approximately ½ the depth of a credit card. If the blade is set too deep, it       will dig into the polyester carrier.

If you change the blade from 45⁰ to 60⁰, you must change the offset value.

The downside of dye-based ink was that you sacrificed durability. While fade resistance has improved greatly with new color formulations, the more vibrant dye-based inks generally exhibit a much lower resistance to UV light.
Aqueous Inks. Aqueous inks were popular in the Point-Of-Purchase industry for printing posters. Most of these inks are dye-based, although today pigment inks are also available. The dye-based inks produced very vibrant colors, which were perfect for indoor applications. Printed images are quite often very close to photographic quality, which is why photographers have preferred these printers to output their work. The shortcomings of the dye-based inks were that their durability was limited and not suitable for outdoor applications. UV (Ultra-Violet) printing is a digital inkjet printing technology similar to sublimation. In the same way as sublimation printing, you can design the graphics without any color limitations. How to clean sublimated garments?

Garments decorated with sublimation heat transfer will withstand washing and drying twenty times and more, if they are cared for properly. Reviewing the right way to wash, dry and iron garments decorated with heat transfers.
I am frequently asked how many times you can wash a garment with a heat transfer applique before it deteriorates. Durability of this material all depends on the type of material that you are using and garment care. If you wash and dry the garment properly, a high quality polyurethane applique should last just as long as the garment itself.
Nothing shortens the life of a heat transfer graphic faster than improper washing and drying of the garment. To ensure optimal durability, you should follow the few simple rules that I have listed below. 
Washing Garments with Heat Transfers.
Washing garments decorated with heat transfer appliques involves a little more than separating white garments from colored fabrics:
• To protect the heat transfer applique from abrasion as garments rub together during the wash cycle, turn the garment inside out. 
• Before washing, wait 24 hours after heat transfer application. 
• Wash the garment at low or warm water temperature settings. Refer to the washing instructions on the garment label and the product application guide for the heat transfer material. In the ideal world, like fabrics should be separated and washed together.
• Use a mild detergent. Never use chlorine bleach.
• NOTE: Do not dry clean flex materials. It is OK to dry clean flock materials. 
Drying Garments with Heat Transfers.
The high heat in driers can cause much more damage to heat applied graphics than washing.To prevent heat damage to appliques, follow these tips:
• To protect the image from abrasion as garments rub against each other, turn it inside out.
• Tumble dry on the low temperature setting. (So clothes can actually tumble as they dry, never overstuff the drier. This practice will also minimize wrinkles.)
• Don’t overdry your clothes. Remove clothes from the dryer while they are slightly damp. Put clothes on hangers for final drying. Better yet, hang your clothes to dry on an old-fashioned clothes line. (Do not hang garments outside in the sun to dry or the UV light will accelerate the fading process.)
IRONING GARMENTS WITH HEAT TRANSFERS. 
When ironing a garment decorated with a heat transfer polyurethane graphic, turn the garment inside out or cover the graphic with cotton cloth. If a hot iron touches the polyurethane film, it will melt the film, ruining the graphics!

Various brand sublimation printer for polyester-based textiles

There are a number of dye sublimation printers available. Roland has developed a new sublimation printer, the Texart RT-640 (pictured below), a 64ins machine designed to print to transfer paper. It can print at up to 32.6 sqm/hr.
There’s a choice of four or eight colours, with the addition of orange, violet, light cyan and light magenta as well as the standard CMYK colours. There’s also a choice between Roland’s own VersaWorks RIP and an ErgoSoft RIP. 
Mimaki is one of the pioneers of textile printing and has several models. This includes the TS500, a 1.8m wide production printer capable of printing up to 150 sqm/hr on transfer paper. There’s also the TX500 DS, which can print directly to coated polyester fabrics for furnishings and graphics, and the TX500-B, which has an automated belt-fed transport system for handling a variety of different fabrics for fashion and furnishing.

But Mimaki also sells the 1.6m wide TS5, which prints to transfer paper at up to 40 sqm/hr and is mainly designed for garments such as sportswear and scarves. There’s a 1.8m wide TS34, which can print at up to 32 sqm/hr in four colors or 17 sqm/hr in six colors. There’s a 3.2m wide JV5, which can print direct to polyesters as well as transfer paper, and is an ideal width for exhibition graphics, flags and banners.Before Mimaki TS300P 1800 was showed at the FESPA 2015 show, a 1.8m wide printer capable of producing up to 115 sqm/hr on transfer paper.
Epson makes the SureColor F-series dye sublimation printers, which print to transfer media. They’re fitted with Epson’s own PrecisionCore print head and use Epson’s UltraChrome DS ink. The range includes the 44" F6200, which can produce up to 63 sqm/hr, and the 64" F7200, which can produce up to 58 sqm/hr. Dual print heads F9200, which features a new high density black ink to reduce ink usage. It can produce up to 97 sqm/hr.

Mutoh has a number of different dye sublimation printers, having adapted several of its wide format printers to use its water-based dye sub inks. Mutoh launched the ValueJet 1938WX, a 1.9m wide dye sub printer fitted with two printheads for faster production. It can print direct to textiles as well as transfer paper. It’s essentially a wider version of the existing 1.6m wide 1638WX, launched last year. There’s also a 2.6m wide 2638 dye sub, designed to print to transfer paper at speeds up to 108 sqm/hr.

Mutoh has also developed several direct to textile printers. The 1.6m wide 1628TD and the 2.6m wide 2628TD, both of which can print direct to fabric. They use CMYK and there’s a choice of dye sublimation and direct disperse inks.

What kind textile can get better print result?

Ordering a sublimation printing system means that you're going to get basically the same thing – a printer,  some ink,  some paper,  maybe some practice fabric,  maybe some blanks,  but the essentials won't vary all that much.   Prices may vary some,  depending on where and when you're buying,  but they most likely won't be all that different from place to place. Really,  when you're purchasing a sublimation system,  it's about the intangible extras, the things you can't really see or touch,  but which can make your shopping experience, and your subsequent sublimation experience, good or bad.  

First,  look at fabric type.   Fabric type can make a difference because certain fabrics won't work well with certain printing disciplines.   Sublimation,  for instance,  only works on polyester.   It can be done on polyester blends,  but only if a distressed look is the end result.    
On the other hand, screen printing on polyester can be problematic because of dye migration,  which means the ink bleeds into the fabric. Some of this can be avoided by using an underbase,  but it should be considered. If the fabric is cotton,  sublimation is out,  as it won't work on cotton. Screen printing or direct to garment printing would work,  it just depends on the sort of finished look the customer desires.

CO2 Laser Cutter VS Fiber Laser Cutter

CO2 or Fiber? Which laser is "better"? The new fiber laser technology has caught fire since its recent release into the laser cutting market just a few years ago and has really gotten everyone’s attention. With almost all lasers being CO2 prior to this release, the fiber laser has already taken a massive chunk out of the CO2 market in the recent 5 – 7 years it has been around.
For a customer who is in the market for a laser, how do they determine which is a better fit for them? Most customers would most likely fall into one of these two categories:
· This is my first laser purchase and am new to the laser cutting industry.
·  I already have a CO2 laser but am currently looking to upgrade.

In either scenario, the questions to ask yourself would be:
· What type and how thick is the material we will be cutting?
·  How much production do we have for the machine?

Here are a few pros and cons to having a CO2 and Fiber laser:
CO2 Pros:
·  Initial Investment - You can get into a used CO2 machine at a fraction of the cost of a new Fiber.
·  Availability - Finding a quality, used, CO2 machine will be far easier and much more economical.
·  Thicker Material - CO2 lasers for the most part will outperform cutting thicker material in anything 1/2” and above.

CO2 Cons:
· Operating Costs - When comparing a new CO2 to a new Fiber, the CO2 machines will consume far more power than the fiber.  There are many more consumables (lenses, optics, etc.) with a CO2 compared to the fiber.
· Blowers and Vacuum Pumps - Used CO2 resonators will need to have the turbo blower, vacuum pump and optics replaced.  The timing of this is different for each mfg.

Fiber Laser Pros:
· Speed - Fiber lasers can cut thinner material up to 400% faster than a CO2 Laser.
· Reflective material - No Problem! You can cut Aluminum, copper, and Brass with ease.
· Operating Costs - No need to worry about Consumables, Gases, Optics, and Mirrors because a Fiber Laser doesn’t require them. This translates into Low maintenance cost.
· Lower Maintenance/Rebuild Costs - CO2 average maintenance is every 12k-48k hours (depending on machine) and can run about $12k-$50k (depending on machine). With a Fiber Laser it’s close to 100,000 hours and at a fraction of the cost.
· Power Consumption - The power usage for a Fiber Laser is about half of what you would expect from a CO2.
Fiber Laser Cons:
· Initial Investment – There are very few used fiber machines available and if you find on the price will still be quite high.  A new Fiber Laser is $400K and up depending on the brand, sheet size and power supply size.
· Newer Technology - Beware the first-generation Fiber optics due to the fact the technology was new and there were still many issues being worked out.
In conclusion, determining which type of laser is the better fit will depend heavily on what stage you are in as a laser cutting facility.  A start up may be better off finding a 10 – 15-year-old CO2 machine whereas the shop with lots of production and internal laser knowledge/experience may be able to justify a new Fiber Laser.  The harder decision will be for the shops who already have a CO2 laser and are looking to upgrade.  Our recommendation would be that if you looking to go new, go with a fiber and not a CO2.  The CO2 will probably be the better option only if you are looking to go used.

1. Temperatura y tiempo

2. La presión

B. Las imágenes se verán muy diferentes antes y después de la impresión de transferencia. Así que recuerda hacer una prueba antes de la producción a granel.
C. Asegúrese de que no haya espacio entre el papel de sublimación y la superficie del sustrato. De lo contrario, hará borrosos los gráficos transferidos.

Features of dye sublimation printing process

First,  the technical stuff:  the official definition of sublimation is as follows:  “In chemistry, the direct conversion of a solid into a gas, without passage through a liquid stage.”  Dye sublimation is the process by which heat is applied to inks turning them into a gas and bonding the ink with the polyester fibers of fabric or the poly coating on hard goods.  The result of the bond is a print that won’t wear out until the imprinted  item does.
1, Superior Printing Effects. The textiles using sublimation transfer process usually get elaborate figures, which is with bright colors, rich and clear gradation, and is of high artistry and strong dimensionality. This can hardly be carried out by other common printing methods, and you may even get photographic and painterly figures with such process. 
2, The transferred items touch soft, and have a long lifespan. The remarkable feature of sublimation transfer process lies in the fact that you can almost not feel the exist of the ink layer after the disperse dyes are let in the polyester or fiber. It is because that the ink gets dried during the transfer process that the lifespan of figures is the same as the transferred clothes, and no  attrited graphics will exist.

What problems we meet from beginner?

For beginner, one of the questions we frequently get when discussing sublimation is a fairly simple one “What can you sublimate?”.   The answer,  the basic one,  is fairly simple too,  anything made of polyester fabric or with a poly coating.    Where it becomes complicated is when the question morphs from simply “what can I sublimate” to “what kind of garments can I sublimate” or “what sells better sublimated hard goods or sublimated garments?” or the ever popular “I’m adding sublimation to my shop,  what sublimated goods should I offer?”.

One way to answer these questions is to consider the market to which you will be selling.    Some markets love hard goods, personalized puzzles, water bottles for fun runs,   plaques for sporting competitions,  souvenirs for local tourist attractions,  all that stuff can be snapped up quickly.    Other markets,  on the other hand,   are all about garments.    Sweatshirts, polos,  hats,  socks,  you name it,  they want it decorated.    In this market,  hard goods would not have as much appeal. So,  a lot depends on the make-up and preferences of your particular market.   You have to know that before deciding what sublimated items to offer.

Another way to answer the question is to look at the possibilities.   Sublimation can be a great method for decorating garments,  but it does have some limitations.   The items to be decorated must be polyester only.   Because sublimation dyes the fabric,  anything but a white garment will interact with and effect the color of the finished design.    Sublimation also has no option for white ink,  so it doesn’t work well on very dark colors.   All over sublimation is very popular,  but it works best on fabric which is sublimated and then sewn into a garment. On the other side of the coin, however,  sublimation dyes the fabric,  so designs have no hand.  Because designs are dyed into the garment,  the design is also pretty much guaranteed to last as long as the garment does.   There have also been great advances in the look and wearability of polyester garments,  so they are now much more attractive to consumers.

When it comes to hard goods,  the first thing to mention is that anything that is to be sublimated must have a polyester coating.   There are a number of distributors,  Fei Yue Inc. among them,  who sell sublimatible blanks, so finding a source for hardgoods to sublimate shouldn’t be too difficult.   The problem here may be that a decorator would be spoiled for choice,  faced with such an array of blanks from which to choose.   It should also be noted that mastering the technique necessary for sublimating some hardgoods may take time and practice. Sublimating hardgoods may also require special jigs or platens for a heat press,  so that should be considered as well.

In the final analysis,   the items you sublimate will most likely be determined partly by what the market wants,  partly by what you enjoy doing,  and partly by what items you put in the effort to sell.    There is no hard and fast rule about what sublimated good will work for every situation.   It’s up to you to do the research and to know your market well enough to make educated choices about what sublimated goods to stock.
